One thing I have learned is it is very easy to fall to judgement. Over the past year Lecrae and his team have been gaining success at even greater rates and changing things along the way. In reality I don't know why they make the choices they do, however I like many people have made my own assumptions. The other day I posted Rapzilla's story about Reach Records changing their mission statement and got hit with many comments, good and bad. One stuck in my mind more than the rest. Someone commented how we charge for the promotions we do, however we don't for more than 95% of the stuff we promote and I know that to be true, however others may assume differently. It made me realize I have been writing stories even though I was just assuming the truth. The facts are just like many people don't know why I do what I do, I also have no clue why Lecrae and his crew make the choices they make, however I trust God and believe they are following his lead. I often ask who was the first Christian rapper that you all ever heard and more often than not it is someone from the Reach Records team. I personally might take a different approach to the word unashamed or the title Christian rapper, however no matter what they call themselves or label themselves as they are reaching for the kingdom with the message they are bringing.
